About the role:

As an EDI Specialist, you will contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team focused on supporting and maintaining electronic data interchange (EDI) processes. This exempt-level role involves regular interaction with internal teams and external partners, requiring strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will assist in managing business integration platforms by performing administrative tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting trading partner integrations. Responsibilities include writing SQL queries, applying coding skills, and utilizing technical tools to ensure accurate and efficient data exchange. Comprehensive training will be provided to support your development and success in the role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide customer and technical support for EDI-related issues, ensuring seamless communication with trading partners.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transactions (ANSI X12), independently analyzing error codes, logs, and partner feedback to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot trading partner integrations by analyzing data mapping and transformation tasks (e.g., converting XML, JSON, or EDI formats).
  • Manage file transfers like FTP, SFTP, or AS2 to facilitate secure data exchange.
  • Provide 24/7 first-level support as part of a rotating on-call schedule, addressing EDI platform issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance integration logic within platforms like BizTalk or Boomi, working independently and in collaboration with developers.
  • Identify recurring EDI transaction issues and contribute to problem management initiatives.
  • Coordinate AS2 certificate updates, ensuring secure communication and alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments (e.g., Finance, Logistics) and external trading partners to clarify data requirements and resolve integration issues.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and troubleshoot data from relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of EDI processes, configurations, and partner requirements to ensure consistency and audit readiness.

 

What you need:

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical, analytical or customer-facing role required
  • Background in SQL for querying relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server), Boomi or Biztalk. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to evolving business needs, and maintain composure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 
  • Proactive and analytical mindset with a proven ability to independently identify challenges, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions. 
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement in technical processes and documentation. 
  • Service-oriented approach with the ability to build relationships, resolve complex issues, and support partners effectively. 
  • Self-motivated and accountable for delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.  
  • Ability to interpret system logs and error reports to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
