About the role:

As a Legal Contract Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and drafting legal contracts to maximize business opportunities and minimize risk to TQL. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of contract law.

What you'll be doing:

  • Review, revise, draft, and analyze a variety of legal contracts, including but not limited to customers, vendors, real estate, and carriers
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and other departments (e.g., procurement, finance, sales) to ensure contracts meet organizational objectives and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the negotiation process by providing recommendations for revisions and changes to terms and conditions
  • Conduct risk assessments and advise relevant stakeholders on potential legal risks and mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contracts and related documents
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and standard operating procedures for contract management
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal reports and summaries for management

  

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or related field required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in contract analysis, preferably within the logistics industry 
  • Knowledge of contract law and legal terminology
  • Basic understanding of cargo claims, the CARMACK Amendment, bills of lading, risk to freight brokers under the theories of vicarious liability and negligent hiring/selection
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex documents and identify key issues
  • Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and abilities to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
