About the role:

The Senior Legal Operations Analyst is an experienced analyst and will partner with the Legal Team and cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, drive change, analyze data to better help identify trends and optimize costs. This role requires a forward-thinking professional with expertise in analytics, process improvement, and technology, including advanced reporting tools and AI-driven solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define and lead strategic and operational initiatives with measurable, on-time, and on-budget outcomes
  • Proactively analyze and redesign complex processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce costs, and maximize operational effectiveness
  • Oversee the modernization of the Legal Team’s data environment, leveraging Microsoft Fabric to build scalable, cloud-based data solutions
  • Develop advanced reporting and analytics dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau to deliver actionable insights, including matter and work product analyses
  • Advanced ability to write T-SQL to query data, create views and stored procedures, and create and update tables and indices
  • Facilitate departmental growth and ensure compliance by managing Legal Department inboxes, efficiently directing requests to the appropriate experts for prompt resolution
  • Design and lead training programs for Legal Department team members and stakeholders, focusing on new technologies, analytics platforms, and best practices
  • Serve as a thought leader on emerging trends and technologies in legal operations, particularly in the application of AI and data-driven decision-making
  • Work independently, demonstrating self-sufficiency in managing multiple priorities and complex projects with minimal oversight
  • Communicate complex ideas effectively to senior leaders, team members, and external partners, tailoring messaging to diverse audiences
  • Enhance the culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Legal Team and broader organization. 
  • Ability to sit and perform the required work on-site, in an open workstation office environment, for a minimum of eight hours each workday

  

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, data analytics, information systems or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience with T-SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with PowerBI/Tableau
  • 2-5 years of experience with legal project operations and management in-house or at a law firm (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience developing processes, policies, or workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support needed from others while working in a cross-functional role
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups (e.g., Finance, Operations, Sales, IT) to set objectives and produce meaningful results
  • Experience in legal, insurance, financial, or other similar professional service industries (preferred, but not required)
